France Telecom holds targets, but sales drop
PARIS -France Telecom held to its financial targets for the year on Thursday despite a drop in sales in the third quarter. The sales fall of 6.4 percent to 12.69 billion euros (18.67 billion dollars) was bigger than a consensus forecast by analysts, as polled by Dow Jones Newswires, of 5.2 percent.

Total's profit plunges 54%
PARIS - FRENCH oil giant Total on Wednesday reported a third quarter net profit plunge of 54 per cent on a year earlier to 1.87 billion euros (S$3.86 billion) because of the slump in oil prices. The result was slightly better than the 1.84 billion euro profit that had been expected by analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires.
