Merck KGaA Suspends Stimuvax Studies on Side Effect (Update6)
March 23 (Bloomberg) -- Merck KGaA stopped studies of the experimental cancer vaccine Stimuvax, a shot that the German drugmaker has said may generate as much as $1 billion in sales, after a patient with a blood malignancy developed a brain infection while taking it.

Erbitux can now be used in Japan as 1st-line treatment for mCRC: Merck Serono
Merck Serono, a division of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, announced today that Erbitux® (cetuximab) can now be used in Japan in combination with chemotherapy in the 1st-line treatment for patients with epidermal growth factor receptor -expressing, curatively unresectable (inoperable), advanced or recurrent colorectal cancer carrying the KRAS wildtype gene.

Germany's Merck sees Q2 profit rise 69 percent
